National team midfielder Baek Seung-ho has extended his contract with Birmingham City, a team competing in the English third division, and will stay with the team until June 2028.

Birmingham City announced on their website on the 7th, "Baek Seung-ho has committed his future to the team until June 2028."

He explained that the club's vision and future plans were decisive factors in Baek Seung-ho's contract extension.

Baek Seung-ho left Jeonbuk Hyundai in the K League 1 in January and put on the Birmingham City uniform, then in the Championship (2nd division), to challenge himself on the European stage again after three years, but the team suffered the misfortune of being relegated to League One (3rd division).

Due to the relegation, it was expected that Baek Seung-ho would transfer to a higher league team. In fact, there were offers from Championship clubs, but his team did not accept them, so he ended up spending this season in the third division.

Fortunately, Birmingham City are cruising to the top of League One with seven wins, one draw and one loss in nine games this season. If they continue this trend, they can get promoted again and compete in the Championship.

In League One, the first and second placed teams are 한국을 automatically promoted.

Baek Seung-ho said through the club, "I feel every day how hard the coaching staff and my teammates are working to improve," and "I felt that the process was going well from the first day of the new season. That's why I wanted to be a part of the club and signed a new contract."

Baek Seung-ho gave credit to the club for helping him get selected for the national team led by Hong Myung-bo for two consecutive A-matches in October.

He said, "It's all thanks to the club. I'm grateful to the coaching staff and my teammates who made me a better player," and "It's all thanks to the members of this team that I was called up to the national team."
